Primo Lighting and Sound is a full-service DJ and entertainment company based in East Amherst, just outside Buffalo, New York. Established in 2019, we serve all of Western New York with DJs, MCs, sound, lighting, photo booths, video, special effects, live musicians and more.
At Primo, we're more than a company — we're passionate storytellers weaving unforgettable experiences. Our journey began with a simple belief: that every event, from intimate gatherings to grand spectacles, deserves to be elevated to its fullest potential.

Primo Giammusso
Primo doesn't think of himself as just a DJ — he builds luxury event experiences, where the music is one part of a fully produced night alongside the lighting, the sound and the production that ties it all together. That obsession started young: hooked on music and lighting as a kid, running real productions by his teens, and his first wedding at 16. At 17, he founded Primo Lighting and Sound to bring Western New York a level of polish most people had only seen at concerts and galas.
The most rewarding part of the job, he'll tell you, is seeing the joy on people's faces as they dance the night away. Those heartfelt thank-yous at the end of the night are a constant reminder of why he does what he does — and he doesn't just aim to meet your expectations, he strives to exceed them.

Primo's Italian Roots
The Giammusso name comes from Italy, and Primo has DJed there several times — open-air floors at La Terza in Sicily, packed until the early hours. Playing for an Italian crowd teaches you something you can't learn in Buffalo: how a room moves when the music is part of the family, not just the background.
Primo MCs in both English and Italian. When nonna and nonno are at the head table, when half the guest list is more comfortable in Italian, when the tarantella has to land at exactly the right moment — it isn't something he looks up the week before. It's home.

His range doesn't stop at Italian. Primo also has deep experience with Latin music — salsa, bachata, merengue, cumbia and reggaeton — and knows how to work it into a night so the floor stays full.
Every DJ on our roster is a pro, but the bilingual Italian MC work is Primo's own — request him by name and we'll check his availability for your date.
